A HOT FLASH IS A LIE

A hot flash is a lie
that estrogen contorted
from somewhere deep inside
and our thermostat fell for it.

Estrogen's the culprit.
It's always been the cause.
Our bodies are its pulpit
from our teens to menopause.

Just enough will cause a flow
through the best years of our lives,
and never let us go
until the gross hormone subsides.

Then like any other lie,
it grows bigger as it goes,
so we sweat when the sun is high,
and freeze like when it snows.

to battle this facade.
Although it may be glum,
it's our defense against this fraud!
