The day the world stood still.
Destruction of the Towers

By: Tracey Criswell Wilson

Of all the words unspoken
and all the thoughts un-thought
all the hearts its broken,
and all the pain it brought.

Twisted as the metal frame,
faces in agony
turn from the fire-ry rain.

Demonic destruction the
Cameras caught.

Firefighters carried small lifeless
Children. The soot and ashes covered
Over so many blocks.

We all heard stories of the phone calls,
One last time to reach their family,
To say goodbye and I love you,
Last words their bravery sought.

America was forever changed that day,
Our hearts are so full of pain for those we lost
Our souls are full of love for those left behind,
Our faith poured out to God --
         (Our determination for the American
         people, unshakeable
).
