First attempt at a Ghazal. Thank you Khalish.
MY DAUGHTERS

My wish for you, my daughters
Soar on proud wings. Fly, daughters.

Let your voices be heard - shout!
Don't be surpressed, shy daughters.

When stress and trouble and pain
intrude, do not cry, daughters.

Faith and love will get you through
They're the reasons why, daughters.

You must do as Mommy says
Please do your best. Try, daughters.

Many thanks to Khalish for ispiring me to write my first poem in years.

Read this great article about ghazal poetry, then check out the author's portfolio, too.
