A day with my toddler...
I cleaned Play-Dough off the floor
for the tenth time today,
In between making castles out of
popsicle sticks
and fashioning hats out of
pipe cleaners,
But only before cutting apples to
dip into peanut butter
and peeling string cheese
for a pretend mustache.
Not to mention construction paper,
glue sticks and glitter pens,
crayons and finger painting,
and lets not forget Play-Dough...
And as I start to pray for
a moment of silence, just one,
You come to me and kiss me
with a peanut butter and jelly smile.
Toddler hands cupping my face,
chubby and innocent.
I cleaned Play-Dough off the floor
for the eleventh time today
Because it makes me happy.
