A poem about the first sparks of love and trying to deny it to oneself.
It would be arrogant of me to assume I affect you,
I realise we are opposite people,
But there's some kind of look in your eyes when I'm near you,
I wish I could see in your heart,

Is it because we can talk,
Without picking up the pieces afterwards?
Or because I remind you of someone else
You loved with all your heart?

I have no notions that we could be together,
That the candle I carry for you is reciprocated,
I don't believe we are meant to be,
I ignore the electricity when we touch,

Yet the one thing that makes me question,
is that some kind of look in your eyes.
