A poem written at the very beginning of a new relationship.
New Love

Nothing could bring me back again
Those times I was alone,
Darkness filled my heart and soul
That thought "forever on my own."

The quiet nights and lonley days
Memories constant, painful and deep,
Everlasting scars, burned with fear
My soul, now a lifeless heap.

The darkness faded as you spoke
Words that made me think and feel,
A friendship like no other
A passion that was real.

The strength I once had, began to appear
As weeks went by I knew,
My heart and head didn't want to obey
But I knew I would love you.

The feelings grow stronger day by day
My life is nothing without your heart,
Thoughts of lonliness are all but gone
Nothing can tear us apart.

Given eternity, there is too little time
To explain what you've given to me,
You may never know just how much
Your heart, your love, set me free.
