This season ends on a cold note.
I seek atonement
by going on this drive.
I'll run along this path
to wherever it may take me.

As I wander along,
I notice around me-
trees soft yellow 'gainst
grass crisp and brown.

This blend of golden
nature envelops me.
It is among these things
when the last of life leaves me.

I see everything
on this lingering journey.
All the joy, heartbreak-
it swells into one.

Icy winds serve to
remind me what lies ahead:
the requiem of
my emotional well being.

This is the last time I'll ever see it.
Time to say good bye to those dreams.
A colder outlook rules my life.
Now autumn takes its last breath from me.
