a poem about my grandson - cinquiano form
Jacob

Jacob;
He who holds my heart in his hands,
Has wrapped me securely
‘Round his little
Fingers.

Fingers
Growing stronger as time passes,
As is my love for him.
Beautiful one,
Grandson.

He‘s a
Mischievous, charming little boy.
Sometimes shy, sometimes not,
Innocent and
Special.

I think
He will be a big heartbreaker
Someday when he grows up.
Handsome outside
And in.

I feel
Concern for what the future holds.
Anything that hurts him,
Hurts me as well,
Always.

I want
Him to be happy, and healthy.
But I know challenges
Are the way that
We grow.

And I
Know that I can’t be always there
To protect and shield him
From the hurts that
Life brings.

So I
Rest securely in the knowledge
That I am not the One
Who loves him best:
God does.
