REMEMBERING BEFORE IT'S GONE

I’m sitting here, looking out the window
I have fond memories of a winter gone by
Talking about a conversation I once had
I’m so nostalgic I want desperately to cry
You’d wonder why
Someone passes me by, he looks dressed up
I ask him if he’s going to the graduation
He says, “No one’s lucky enough to leave”
So now I’m just full of contemplation
And this relation
Other crowds look about with grins
Colors of excellence adorn these halls
I think of all my stories I can remember
Do you wonder what’s happened tween these walls
And bathroom stalls?
