Words can confound and confuse
They can make you laugh and cry
Words can heal or abuse
Sometimes you wish you'd die.

Words should caress and calm
They are not meant to hurt
Words should not scar or harm
Sometimes they are cold and curt.

Don't let words allure
To things you never dream
Words can be soft, like amour
Make your heart sing, not scream.
