Unfortunately this is how it seems to be with some people
I see the falseness of smiles
pasted on their faces like a sick imitation of a clown,
but I'm the only one who sees
the lies of glee.

I hear the untruth of their laughs
forced from their mouths like a baby from it's mother's womb,
but I'm the only one who sees
the lies of glee.

I can smell the anxiousness felt
as they continuously watch the clock like a fox does a rabbit,
but I'm the only one who sees
the lies of glee.

I can almost touch the resentment
as they stare accusingly at their elderly kin,
but I'm the only one who sees
the lies of glee.

I taste the happiness
as they quickly walk out the door without a backwards glance,
but I'm the only one who sees
the truth in that glee.
