You don't realize how much something means to you until it's almost gone.
People say you don't realize how much something mean to you
Until it's gone from view
That was the case with my sister, the baby
Seems like just yesterday I stood over her crib and smiled, maybe
Then the two of us set off together
I in a new dress she in leather
It was our first day of school
We came home arguring with a silly little duel
Then one day my sister was almost snatched away
Looking back, I cry on that dreadful day
The doctor said, " She's in a coma, all we can do is wait."
I begged them to do something to change her bleak fate
"Diabetes is not something to be taken lightly."
Then my mother said not very politely,
"What were we supposed to do,
you know we had no clue."
My sister had a seizure during that very talk
The doctor came back in a hurried walk
The only thing left to do was pray
We prayed it wouldn't be her last day
Then we all whispered thanks, smiled
My sister was now my mother's miracle child
She has a long road ahead
but the waters she tread
Don't have to be alone
She knows she'll never be on her own
In an instant a life can be changed
I am thankful that God has everything prearranged
