A runaway's poem
You treat me with hate.
You show me nothing but contempt.
You ignore my depression.
You scoff at my pain.

Everybody else ignores me.
They turn a blind eye to the abuse.
They call me a liar.
Nobody cares.

Why should I stay?
Why can’t I just get away?
I have nothing to keep me here.
You probably won’t miss me anyway.

Where will I go?
What will I do?
It doesn’t matter.
Wherever I may roam,
It won’t be here.
