Ibadan is a place and it lives.
Ibadan, of illicit illusions,
Island of imminent immobility,
Impending instability, and,
Intricate but influential ideals

Raised on ruckus, really,
I recall realms of reality,
Our region became our religion,
Our redemption relying on restitution

I mourn moda'lan,
Muted and mellowed by meekness,
Mesmerized by the meanness of mortals,
Meditating under her mammoth moon

Abode of the ancients,
My answer, my asylum,
She amplifies my aspiration,
Aiding atonement for my aggression

I miss the scene of my youth,
Origin of my unsolicited tears,
Shaper of countless destinies,
Deliverer from my many fears,
Ibadan.
