A short poem inspired by a friend and his love; the guitar.
There sits a solitary figure,
Unaccompanied in the eyes of the audience-
Except for his voice
And Hers.

He is haloed by the living glow from above,
And is brought to life by its illuminations.
His piercing, staccato eyes roam
The audience searching for a muse.
It drives out all thought,
Giving birth to silence.

His hands stroke one curved side
Of his serene partner.
He cradles her by the slender neck. His hands
Caress her graceful length to find the perfect point.

The dancing tune he manipulates
From the hallowed belly of his love
Becomes nature’s laugh,
And resonates through the crowd.

He creates, before judging ears,
Flowing energy of concentrated emotion,
Consecutive waves of rolling thunder that
Deafen, Bombard, and Overwhelm all sense.

An apex is reached
Attack after attack- striking, feinting,
Desperate acts of undaunted courage,
Garnishing, advancing, the thunder
Of his defiant Song.
