a description of March
Droplets of clear and sweet, cool rain
patter on the roof and the windowpane;
the air smells fresh and is bursting with life,
the strong wind blows away thy grief and strife.
It tousles and whips thy golden hair;
blows color into a face so fair.
One morning the world is covered in white,
the next the sun is shining with a face so bright.
The fields are of a gleaming emerald green
and the turquoise skies are deep and newly washed clean.
Rich and damp is the rain soaked earth;
it smells of water and is drenched in the mirth
of the few snow fairies that lingered on
after the end of Winter’s song.
The winds rush and howl like gales,
Blustering, shrieking, and filling the air with wails.
Flags rustle loudly and the air is clear;
it fills thy lungs and dries thy tears.
It does thy heart good to know
New life lies under those blankets of snow.
The rains that fall from the heavens above
Wet thy face and whisper of love.
Raindrops trickle down thy cheeks
Renewing the soul and mending the weak.
God smiles at His awakening lands
As He guides them with a Wise and Sage old Hand.
O weep no more, little one,
For Spring is here, for March has come.
