A pantoum--hypnotic musings on the subject of humanity's search for truth.
Of the world that spreads wide about us,
why is it that we demand answers?
Is some part of our most innate selves
that which makes us wonder, and question, and dream?

We try to comprehend the elegant beauty
of the world that spreads wide about us.
This burning desire for knowledge
is some part of our most innate selves.

Pressing on in search of a higher understanding
we try to comprehend the elegant beauty
attempting to sate the insatiable,
this burning desire for knowledge.

We lift high a candle, plunging into the dark,
pressing on in search of a higher understanding.
We dive into mystery, seeking the truth,
attempting to sate the insatiable.

Because of our higher and deeper conundrum
we lift high a candle, plunging into the dark,
a shimmering light in the darkness.
We dive into mystery, seeking the truth.

Why is it that we demand answers?
Because of our higher and deeper conundrum,
that which makes us wonder, and question, and dream,
a shimmering light in the darkness.
