Don't ask. It just had to be written. A little something about innocent love lost.
The greatest of gifts to be given at will
Of hopes and ideals, Innocence still
Shall flourish and grow ‘neath watchful eye
Of heaven and earth, ocean and sky.
Nothing so precious can be discarded with ease
The calmest of winds, the smoothest of seas.
... I’m lying of course, can’t you tell?

Idealistic lives held by the strongest of cords
Built to withstand the most violent of storms.
A burning brand to be brandished by those
Who nary shall wish the death of their foes.
The most beautiful of basics, the most basic of beauties
A herald to summon those bound to their duties.
... I’m lying, of course, won’t you tell?

The brightest of stars amidst a sea of the same
Call for the other by the same cherished name,
For brothers and sisters, Parents alike
Stand by their beliefs to defer any strike
Made against their claim of paternal love,
A matron ideal, a gift from above.
... I’m lying, of course, please won’t you tell?

For as you have guessed that the innocence spoken
From the mouth of my pen, dishonesty’s token
To remove the deception wrought about living
Where one always takes, no thoughts are to giving.
All that is truly wondrous and good
Shall fall to the tarnish where beauty once stood.
... No lying, of course, why can’t you tell?
