A poem in response to the poem "Mother to Son" by Desmond Emanuel Dodson.
You've always been there for me,
Even though you've been tired.
Your life may not have been a crystal stair,
But mama neither has mine.
The stairs you have climbed,
Were hard and loomed above.
Because of your hard work,
Mine have twisted and turned.
All the while I've dealing with change,
There was carpet to soften my climb.
Only with your guidance,
Will I keep my courage,
And keep climbing towards the future.
