I write to heal your wounds.
Pages of Old Ink By Matt Cresswell

These distant writings,
Your link to my past,
I see what I used to read,
Feel what I used to hurt,

Shadows cloud that recall,
Entwined between the lines,
Could I ever find what I need,
Carve my name through the paper,

The story of the life,
One that echoes despair,
Screams through the pages,
As your ink dries and fades away,

I write to heal your wounds,
Watch the tides and observe the sky,
If I can't save you I can't save myself,
Just these withered records remain,
Shades of a lifetime ago.
