Remembering is never easy.
Tears Of The Broken Hearted

looking out the window at times watching the rain fall
millions of tears of the broken hearted
yeah, I belong to that special group
those that seem to always be on the wrong side of love
those that wait for the sun
to hide behind the clouds
replaced by soring rain
tears of the broken hearted
it's funny how rain seems to have that magical power
able to wash away pain, at least some of it
but not for long
the feeling of rejection taking over
the smile that once was frozen on your face gone
eyes that were filled with joy
now lifeless, filled with hurt
watching clouds empty
tears of the broken hearted
a heart that beats, now serving no real purpose
a mind that seems to only want to remember
remember how it was, what was said
replaying the memories over and over again
making the pain so much more unbearable
and the rain continues to fall
building puddles so you can see reflections of times gone by
a sad face staring back at you
that ripples from the wind
tears of the broken hearted
some people like the sun
the heat and warmth that it brings
blues skies and the fragrance of blooming flowers
the rest of us liked that once also
but now the sound of distant thunder
seems to be what we search for
darkening skies that promise redemption
for emotions hidden behind walls of stone
to hold them in at all costs
men don't cry, that's not manly
a flash of light, the roar of thunder
a few seconds of silence
the patter of droplets hitting the window
as they continue to fall
the tears of the broken hearted
...I'm going for a walk!
