My best attempt to describe the undescribable.
It's beyond rhyme; it needs no reason;
Never needs a time or season;
Past compare and beyond time,
Beyond joy and beyond kind;
It's more than fun, it lights the way-
It's always work and always play,
Friendship and passion, intertwined
And woven through a selfless mind-
Vainly sought at times, it's true;
It's all you say and are and do;
It has no need for doubts and fears;
Requires laughter, talks and tears;
It can't be seen, or touched, or smelt
By words or acts. It must be felt
The most of all, and equally-
The blue-green depths of endless sea,
The sunshine's light on cloudy days,
The rain's refreshing, soothing ways,
More bright and true than stars at night-
Meet any fear, face any plight;
It makes you confident and dumb;
It makes you quiver, makes you numb;
It sees all and yet stays blind;
A state of heart, of being, of mind...

Love has writ both tale and verse,
Yet cannot be described by words.
