Trespasses harm whom?
Frozen
by Vivian Gilbert Zabel

In arrogance and defiance,
a husband ignored the vows
he made years ago.

With discouragement and despair,
a wife gathered up her child
and broken dreams.

The woman now waits in joy
for her new husband’s return,
love enclosing her heart.

The man now stands immobile,
his life in shambles
around his feet,

as his heart remains
unforgiven beneath a layer
of frozen pain.

His trespass brought
destruction only to him.
