A complicated poem about seeing the world as it is and change.
I sat within a chrysalis of time,
watching the world pass me by.
This little glass protection of mine.
Wondering when I will be able to fly.

The chrysalis I had was fragile and weak.
It began to break, exposing what was real.
With my protection breaking I got a peek.
At first glance, I didn't know how to deal.

My perfect world had vanished before my eyes.
This new world before me too scary to admit.
Praying that I could take flight and rise.
I promised that to this world I wouldn't submit.

My wings emerged as my true self was found.
I learned that each day in this world, I grew.
I took flight and flew freely above the ground.
Realizing that my life had begun anew.
