A poem wondering expressing anxiety about the afterlife.

What If Heaven Sucks?

A rebellion against humanity;
The sacrifice of diseased intentions

Divorced resentments create unnatural discomfort
A healthy misfit pulled back towards insanity

The ache of ghostly memoirs
Is heaven on earth forged from reality?

Do the mansions of gold still serve fried chicken
on Sunday?

Where do released cravings go?
Do they fester if not fulfilled?

How do I vaccinate or inoculate my plague?
Why did we choose to fall?

What if I stop breathing?
Only to be revived back into this bed alone
instead of at a dinner table with my ancestors?

How do I trust?
