I had to run to Port Mayaca; it was my only chance.
In their words is humiliation,
a wrath to do me in.
I will not let it get to me.
Time to seek salvation.

In the peak of dusk, I measure-
time, distance, and safety do not matter.
If I don't go, I'll be destroyed
and shall plunder my newfound pleasure.

This race against time is my new challenge.
I will chase this sunset until I am there.
When I arrive, I will free myself
from their aching words and emotional binges.

Let them spew advice till the rising of the sun.
For them I'll never admit that maybe I was wrong.
I'll only state it in a place and to one person:
my sacred soil of salvation and he I call the one.

Blue skies of shame are behind me in the east.
To the west are the pink skies of love.
I will follow the western skies hoping they'll carry
me to the arms of my love...at the very least.

The pedal is forced nearly to the floor.
I ask myself questions I fear answering.
However, I have to understand the reality presented
if I truly want to be with the one, mi amor.

I race the sunset fast to the west.
Before I know it, my salvation is in sight!
Now I'm unafraid to be my proud self.
Here I can decide for myself what is best.

Walking to the shoreline under sunlight dim,
I'm ready to scream and quake from the hurt locked inside.
Opening my mouth, though...only a whisper
when I realize I'm willing to do it all for him.

So east I must retreat to ask him the questions
that needed to be asked and must be answered.
In the meantime, my pride has fallen, for I
now need to adjust my unrealistic expectations.
