A poem about unresolved desires and unrequited love.
Pretty ballerina, will you dance for me--
Put on your satin slippers and dance, just for me?
You dance without pause when the audience applauds.
Why, pretty ballerina, won't you dance for me?

You glide across the stage
With pirouette and graceful arabesque.
You smile as flowers land at your feet--
Ruler of all you see.

But, pretty ballerina, you still won't dance for me.
