Gah, this seems a little too angsty. Advice welcome.
Not knowing you were like the rest,
I trusted you with my heart.
But as with all the others
we will someday grow apart.

To me, you were a journal
who I told my secret woes.
I trusted you with the things
no one else will ever know.

I felt as if I'd been slapped,
and then mercilessly shot,
when that fateful day arrived
and you told me what you thought.

"You're like every other teen."
is what you said to me.
It's my fault too, I suppose,
for being to blind to see

that you were like everyone else
I've told my hopes and dreams.
You started out supportive,
but that wasn't what it seemed.
