This is about someone's encounter with a vampire.
This unearthly being who watches me,
Watches and questions my actions.
What will it do to me?
I see it draw close.

To me this is no creature, but a god among men.
To be so perfectly pale,
And with eyes so clear and bright.
To me this is perfect,
But perfection is a lie.

I watch as this creature comes closer yet to me.
It takes my hand and leads me away from my misery.
I don’t know what’s happening,
And don’t really care to look
As this creature produces fangs so white
And into my skin they push.

Deeper, deeper, I feel them draw,
Pulling the very life from my veins.
I knew that perfect is never really perfect,
And yet I still want to stay.

To stay in these arms so cold and pale,
I’ve never felt so safe;
As in the arms of this creature,
The one that has me at bay.

And as I draw my very last breath,
And feel my blood run cold,
I look into those enchanted eyes
And see what life holds.
I feel as I am placed back on the ground,
As that cold embrace is gone;
I feel alone and scared and lost,
I feel nothing anymore.
