A poem about the struggles of life
That's life, I once heard you say,

The dull, the gloomy, the boring, the gray.

All shades of pain surround me

Wherever I turn, that's all I can see.

While memories of a life once lived flashed through my brain,

Yearnings for the innocence lost, still remain.

Deafened by the silent screams; parked between my ears,

Wondering how my soul was lost amongst the fury of tears.

Infinitely changed by an energy beyond my grasp,

Obscured by reality leaving it barely out of clasp.

Trying to conform to the life that was laid out for me,

but not ever really knowing who I am supposed to be.

Seeking, searching for the truth buried amongst the lies,

that I've known my whole life must be some kind of guise.

Pleading with the Goddess of Life to lend me clarity, vision and sight

to give me the strength and wisdom, to help me through the fight.

Gifted with Love, I pick up my sword and continue on

Forging my way through the shadow of darkness, to the light of the unknown.
