Written when I thought I had to give up the one I loved for the happiness of others.
If happiness filled your heart and soul,
what could explain the sorrow you hold,
blaming the inconsiderate hand of the ignorant,
you are destroying that which I uphold.

The greatest love granted to man,
the greatest trust anyone could have,
the friendship of your soulmate,
the love of your dream.

Sinking in this pool of dread,
hoping it is all in the air,
the breeze will consume the words
that caused the bitter to withhold
all that is dear, all that brought faith
to the lives of those that once were afraid.

Afraid to live, afraid to be, living for the need
of the ones that now destroy me.
God tell me now, how this life is worth it.
Grant me the love I never knew existed
to fulfill your own excitement,
then remove him with a tear and no comfort
for your fun has turned sour.

One thing I ask, one thing no more,
remove the love that I cherished,
but also take the pain that is embedded
in the soul of the one I love
which for now on shall be the friend I want.
