A poem about unattainable love... or something like that.
There's a picture on my wall
That never fails to move me
To the land of
"What Might Have Been"

There you are smiling
For me, for the camera
Like nothing ever happened

I can pretend I see love
In your still, photographed eyes
Just as I can pretend
It's for me

What if I had let you in?
What if I knew... but I can't
With all these 'what ifs'
Blocking my view

Soon I'll escape the memories
And all dreams in time fade
I feel cold knowing what I've done

You're beautiful
Like a marble statue - standing proud
But what do you have to be proud of?
I can not love someone
Made of stone

I can not
Love you
