A sad truth.
He stands quite still, no movement making,
Clenched fists by his sides to stop them shaking.
Such craving gnaws at his very being,
His pain by others could not be seen.
Eyes so gentle, yet filled with tears,
Unable now to still his fears.
Inner feelings causing such grief,
A word, a hug, no matter how brief,
The merest little show of love,
Could send his spirit soaring above.
In silent agony his soul cries out,
But no words form, he can not shout,
"Please know and need me, here I am,
Don’t ignore me till I’m a man".
He loves his dad with all his might,
But love not returned is his sad plight.
He is only eight and does not know why,
The love of his father is passing him by.
