What I feel the world should be thinking after 9-11!!
“We Are Not Immortal”

We try to go from day to day,
With an open mind and no fear.
We think we are indestructible
And nothing can hurt us

That may be true in some things,
However, when we are attacked unannounced
We begin to realize something:
“We are not immortal!”

How can we think this?
We showed others how to make bombs,
We gave Iran weapons
Did we think they would never use them?

When pearl harbor was attacked, we were unprepared.
We were at the mercy of the Japanese.
However, when you think about it,
We showed them where to hit us!

Vietnam was called a “conflict.”
If so, why televise it?
When one group kills another,
That is war, beyond a doubt!

We want to forget and move on,
However, history repeats itself,
Therefore, you had better hang on,
You have a round trip ticket!

Whom could forget Oklahoma?
We always blame people on the outside,
But sadly my friends,
This time, this one was ours.

If this keeps happening,
We will slowly kill ourselves.
At least the terrorists
Will not have to do it!

The attack on the Twin Towers
Was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
Why did it take us all these years,
To see our stupidity?

We have to wake up,
And take a look around.
Because we will end sooner
If we are blind to our own “conflicts.”

Now that I have said my piece,
Maybe Americans will take notice,
Open their eyes, then say:

“We are not immortal!”
