The only poem I've written that I also memorized.
Alone on the other street corner
Is a person in the lamplight
Like you
Shall we smoke this joint
Shall we hold that body
Until the time comes to do what must be done
Waiting games of the playground
Simon says take a step

Back
Alone on a bloodstained mattress
No it’s not what you’re thinking
The scream comes
Don’t let go of the pillow till the scratches bleed
Fun for now
Until the lights go on

The way they play the darkness of your light eyes
Like the cave of wonders
High in the sky
Resin on my fingertips
When they dive into the water
Near
At arms length
The bottom

Will it soon be time to let this one die
Like the others
Cherry not completely out
Ice and ashes on my floor
Remnants of the forgotten life

Sweet heat after the cold
Blue ice in the fire
It lights with one strike
A fire within stones
