Inspired by my practice sessions for the upcoming Race for the Cure 5K.
Sunday wind, I wonder where you'll take me...
There's a time I want to beat.
Illusion keeps me on my feet
as though a second over 23:00 will break me.

Levitation, put my devils in the dirt.
Now, Girdle Girl, you suck it in
and bring those ankles to your chin!
Don't think so much about your thinking --
just go running! Feel your focus sinking
deep within your soul.
Get down! Get gritty! Reach your goal!

No more philosophy, philandering.
Your heart is too demanding
for your brain to second guess --
your head's a mess!
Don't miss the moment!
you've no energy to waste
assessing, judging, or correcting.

Cryin' out loud, just hit the road!
Just turn it on and see how far you'll go.
I'm willing to believe that you'll amaze yourself.
Just open up those valves and haul.
You're going to have a ball!
