Sensory poem of a first kiss.
The First Kiss

Flickering candlelight casts shadows on your face
as darkness embraces us with soothing arms.
All else becomes shrouded, forgotten to my eyes, save you.

A melodic rhythm steals all meaningless thoughts.
Your voice tickles my ears as you whisper my name.
The beat of your heart becomes one with mine.

Waxy vanilla lingers in the air from the candle.
Holding you against my breasts, I breathe in the scent of your hair.
You are spring wildflowers, autumn wheat.

Your fingers are the ripples on water that trace my skin.
A ray of midday sun is your heat pressing against me.
The petal-soft velvet of your lips meets mine and we are one.
