I found healing in these words after the death of my Father.
I never knew that a heart could hold a love that runs so deep.
I never knew such great sorrow, or imagined the hours a soul could weep.
I never knew I could laugh again after knowing the utter pain.
I never thought I would smell once more the sweetness after a rain.
I never imagined I'd see you again, yet each day I find you near.
You're in the face of my son. When my brother speaks, your voice I hear.
I see you in my sister's eyes, and in the soul of my Mom, your wife.
Your strength goes on in us all. Your grandkids reflect your zest for life.
You're in the laughter, in the music, in the silence of the dark.
I know now Daddy, you're alive, because you're in my heart.
