still working on it
They sit and wonder what life could be like,
outside the barred windows of their souls.
The dreams they dream give them hope for better days,
yet...
Inside their gilded cages they wait,
someday hoping...
Waiting for sunrise to set and dreams to be dreampt.
Inside their barred souls they weep,
for being awake they know only defeat.
They grow restless,
then angry,
wanting nothing but to scream,
but dread of repercussions dampen that dream.
So all will be lost,
to those inside their cages.
As it has been so,
for far to many ages.
