Visionary Poem
As I lay and dream
Of long lost shores
Of distant fairies, lullabies
A land of ancient lore

Of Purple flowers
Softening breeze
On simple ancient towers

Liquid rainbows
Cloud dotted skies
Without a single shower

Sunny thoughts fill my mind
As words could never say
Longing visions of this place
As reality drifts away

Seas of Turquoise
Azure, sapphire, and teal
Flowing completely free

Shores of golden sand
Connecting all the world
To the deep and endless sea

Visions dance like tiny sprites
Across the cloudless sky
Of simple wonders, daylight breeze
As a sparrow begins to fly

Sweet the smells that fill the air
Buttercups and lavender
And the pale hint of wheat

The tastes of summer fall and spring
The faint patting of a bird
In the soft daytime heat

All it is too much to ask
To have such wonders in this light
Summer fairies, moonlit sprites
When day melts into night

Evening lullabies
Twilight laughter
Under the soft moonlit sky

Cool winds
Bringing forth change
From the distant fields of rye

As I lay and dream of dreams
Soon to be lost again
With the morning sun upon my face
Waiting for life to begin
