Syd Barret Acid trip in a poem
Syd landed his matchbox.
The orange sun turned back into an orange.
No need to map the surface of an orange.
No need for Pluto either.
He ate the plum.

How long did he fly the sky
with Lucy?
He checked his flight records
but someone had turned them into
scribbling.
Who would do such a thing?

No time to investigate.
Or maybe there was, he didn't know
but either way he became busy with
the rainbow that was dripping from his speakers
far too many little holes to plug.
so he closed the sound valve.

Roger complained when the music was gone
But he had turned into a Watery puddle
So Syd ignored him.

I like it better now.
He thought.
More adventures to be had
I don't want the time to run out.
I wonder if Mom's making burgers tonight.
