a moment in the city
Citybreath

A steady humming sound fills the air
The streetlights flicker
And laughter shifts my way
Not really silent
Not really loud
A quiet whisper
As if the city holds its breath
And waits
For what I cannot say

For who can tell if she breaths
In or out
We wouldn’t know
For we don’t listen
