A funny poem that I wrote in the 7th grade and won 1st place in a local contest. Enjoy!
I have a secret to get off my chest,
It's very hard to admit at first,
For I'm sure you'll shriek, at the slightest peek,
When you look into my room, prepare for the worst!

My room is cluttered with junk,
It's messier than the bottom of a cage full of birds,
It's grosser than the dump, or when you get your tummy pumped,
It's so horrible dirty would sound like a clean word.

You might laugh and say it is very common,
In every house there must be one dirty room,
The remedy is clear, you must clean it dear,
Throw away, put away, and bring out a broom.

I scoff at those very words you say!
There is NO place to put those toys and shirts and pants,
There is NOTHING large enough, to throw away half my stuff,
And surely no broom would stand a chance.

There just might be a vacuum or two,
And I'm pretty sure I had a great big bed,
Look! A sandwich two weeks old -- Eww, It's covered in mold,
And there's my friend Ted.

I say to you: Step inside if you don't believe me --
Careful that you don't slip on the moss!
Please don't tease, I don't think you should bring your keys,
And I'm not responsible if you get lost.
