This another free-verse poem written after a relationship.
Use the Life Jacket, Love

Your image has drifted from my mind.
Only your shadowy silhouette remains.
The sweet melody of your voice that
once lingered in my ears has faded.
The screen has blackened, the volume muted.

Those eyes that once stared a hole
straight into my heart, see nothing but
a lonely wall, a barrier blocking emotion.
I no longer feel your warm embrace,
just the cold wisp of a loveless breeze.

The feel of your lips pressed against mine
has been forgotten. The taste of your kiss has
washed away. The sense of security that your
body brought has waned. My love for you
has drowned in a salty sea of tears.
