Life is what you make it
Denial

Slowly
night covers,
blacking out the day.
Hiding the path;
excusing your absence,
believing your blindness,
giving refuge to your thoughts.
Sending you dreams,
welcoming your nightmares.
Laughing as you fight with the demons
waiting to accompany you when you wake.
Why do you fear them?
They are your own
and still you refuse to see.
