Another ramble on the shore and ocean
A blizzard roared in
and hovered howling over the shore
for 24 hours
buffeting my windows
with wallops of wind,
forcing its frozen tears
into my room.

The land was smothered in snow
thigh high drifts that captured me
beneath the small winter sun.

I brought my furry black shadow
to the beach
to prowl the wrack.

The raging ocean had snarled up the sand
wrenching fences free to launch them
at the foolish ones who had thought to build borders.

Giant starfish lay frozen in tangles of seaweed
A great spidercrab wore a shroud of ice about his carapace.
Seaclams were cast far out of their element.

The expanse of sand was the only place in town
devoid of snow.
