I dedicate this to my father and my stepmother.
Our views are biased, perception selective
Life is fatal, and all is subjective

The way we have been, since we first got here
Is driven, consumed, and ruled by our fears

It scares you too much, when uncertainty looms
So you seek out knowledge, but too much is assumed

You make a mistake, in the way that you reckon
Opinion comes first, observation comes second

You form an opinion, but then before long
You’re ignoring all data that might prove it wrong

You choose to see only what works for your plight
And that all checks out, so you must be right

Our views are biased, perception selective
Life is fatal, and all is subjective
