Weight Of The World

The moon crept into my window
as I carried the weight of the world.
It touched me softly
with curling fingers
against my eyes, cheeks, mouth.
Possibly you can comprehend
the weight of the world
leaning against me,
smiling;
suggesting I have lost all reason.
But the moon puts its bright eyes into me
begging my pardon,
creeping along the air,
kissing my heart’s life,
and kisses are always a better fate,
than carrying the weight
of the world.
