About an empty, lonely large house.
The clock ticked—
The shadow cast down the floor by the moon.
Not a soul nor creature nor human stirred.

The clock ticked—
Once parties were held; now it is forsaken—rotting in its gloom.
For happy times one must reminisce. Such a thought disallows hope.

The clock chimed-
Midnight. Its eerie ring bounced off the hollow walls of the vacant house.
The place was no longer a home; no longer a desired place to occupy.
Where had they gone, the ones who once walked these halls with such confidence?
