A poem about a person I care for who's suffering a tough time
The Shoot

The smile that melts my heart,
Those eyes that seem to read my mind.
The look you give me that tells me it’s ok to speak from the heart,
To be me,
That tells me you understand.

The way you laugh when you really have no reason,
The way you care when deep inside I see you’re hurting,
These are things that make you special to me.

The way you let me in and open the door,
The way you relax and tell me how you really feel.
The way you allow yourself to fall and lower those boundaries,
These are things that make me feel special too.

But I know you hurt and I know you suffer,
I know the pain that builds inside.
I know there are things that make you crumble,
And make you want to die.
These are the things I wish and I dream I could take away,
Or at least make better in some small way.

When I see you I see a heart of gold,
A soul and face of an angel reborn,
Pure untamed beauty.
Despite what you may believe this is what I really see,
And In my heart and wildest dreams you could never be,
Anything less than an angel of beauty to me.
